Dogs are part of your family. How can you keep them safe and secure on your property?
For one thing, you need to make sure that your dog stays on your property. If you let your dog run free without a leash, a fence is a very good idea. Some of the best options are physical fences, made from wood, metal, or vinyl. Make sure that the fence is high enough so your dog can’t easily jump over it, and be sure that it locks properly.
Underground electric fences are another option. There are some disadvantages to electric fences that need to be seriously considered. Opposite of what some people believe, dogs can and do sometimes run past the property line. They may just want what’s on the other side enough to endure the pain of the shock. Also, this fence does not keep other animals from entering your property, so your dog may not be safe. There may be an electrical outage or the batteries in your dog’s collar may die, making the fence faulty.
It’s important to do research to find the fence that will fit your home the best and keep the dog you love safe and happy!
